Video Game List

The SmartBrain Technologies brain exercise system works with hundreds of video games that you can find in any game and variety store. Most games that require pressing certain buttons consistently to succeed in the game will work with this brain exercise system. We separate compatible games into two categories: racing and jumping. Games are considered ‘jumping’ if a button is used intermittently to succeed in the game. ‘Racing’ games typically require continuous use of certain buttons like the ‘X’ button for success in game play.
To determine compatibility for PS3 or any other supported  game systems follow the instructions below:

Checking for Video Game Compatibility

Simply look for games that use the action button on the right side of the game controller and the directional pad on the left side of the game controller, but not the joysticks to control the main actions of game play. The feedback of the action and directional buttons needs to be consistent and obvious to the game player.  For instance, in a race car game the X button is used for acceleration. The effects of brain patterns cause a noticeable change in the speed of the car. Loss of steering is encountered when the vibration continues for 4 seconds non-stop.
In a platform or ‘jumping’ game, the action buttons control the ability of a game character to jump or do a trick. When the jump button is pressed the ability to jump is controlled by meeting criteria in the EEG training (the character won’t be able to jump as high or as far and the ability to control the direction movement of the character will be impaired.

Both of these types of games work since there is a noticeable change or diminished control based on changes in brain patterns. They also work because the action is frequent through game play.

The type of games that do not work are games that require the use of the analog joysticks for normal game play functions and games that do not provide noticeable changes in feedback.  For instance, a first person shooting game where the character is firing a weapon as the major action in the game. Even though the X button may fire the weapon there is not sufficient feedback in how fast or how far the bullet travels to be useful feedback.
While there are many more games to be discovered, below is an ever growing list of PS One, PS2, PS3 and XBox  games that we have found work well. XBox 360 and Wii are not supported.
